Simba’s September Blog

Alright, I’m mad. I know I complained a lot about living on the road in the RV all summer but now I miss being at the races! I miss the crew guys, the smell of nitro, the curtains in the lounge and most of all I miss Ashley and Dan! Since we got back from the RV trip we were home for about a week and it was great! We watched movies every night and BBQ’d and they gardened in the backyard and let me wander around the patio while they were out there! I was so happy that I didn’t even cause any mischief and only unrolled the toilet paper roll once! (OK, only once that they know about. I also did the roll in the guest bathroom but they haven’t seen it yet!) After the week at home however, I knew something was up when the suitcase came out again. I mentally prepared myself to go on the road again but then they surprised me and dropped me off at Ashley’s family’s house! They were going on the road with out me! And they were leaving me with the two crazy sisters, Brittany and Courtney, while they were gone…

They dropped me off really early in the morning (it was still dark out) so the first thing I did was go wake up everyone. Once I did that I went and laid on any dark clothing I could find. Once the girls got up & came downstairs we had a stare down. Were they going to let me play with toilet paper? Was I going to let them sleep in? They broke the tension by filling up my food bowl and then all was forgiven and I started purring. I’m always a little mad when Ashley & Dan go out of town (its tough being a drag racer’s cat!) but then I remember that it’s fun to hang out with Brittany & Courtney and their house is a lot bigger so I have more room to play!

They started up college again so I laid on all of their textbooks while they worked on homework and studied. That is always fun to do because they will usually pet me while they are working! We listened to the race on NHRA.com and cheered for Ashley, her dad, Robert and Mike whenever they would run. I missed everyone but knew they had to work and I couldn’t go on an airplane, and that they’d be home soon. In the meantime I hung on Laurie’s curtains.

I know that there is one more race, the Indy race, and then Ashley and Dan will be home! Brittany and Courtney will also be racing in Indy so they took me back home and my neighbors, the Millers will come watch me while everyone’s gone. We’ll probably watch the race on ESPN2 this weekend so I can’t wait to cheer for everyone, including my 2 crazy babysitters, as they try to win Indy! I even pulled out all the Kleenex in their bathrooms as a thank you for watching me. They’ll be surprised when they get home next week. It looks like it snowed in their rooms and it’s only September!
