“My First Photo Shoot”

A few weeks back I got to take part in my first photo shoot! Now, as a cat, this opportunity does not come along very often so I wanted everything to be perfect! First off, my owner Ashley took me to get bathed and beautified at our local Animal Salon (aka: Vets). All the people there are so nice to me and really spoil me! This was the day before the photo shoot. Now a day doesn’t sound like much time, but for a cat like me who likes causing mischief, I think my owner was a little worried about me staying clean for the photo shoot because she gave me a talking to when I got home from my bath. She said I was to stay out of the sink so my fur stayed dry and stay away from the flowers in the kitchen (last week I knocked them over and got yellow pollen all over my fur. You should have seen Dan and Ashley trying to figure out what was all over me! They checked every room and it was so much fun following them around as they investigated! Did he make a mess in the sand box? No, they are all clean. Did he get into the markers? No they are in the drawer out of reach. They finally came downstairs and spotted the flower mess. Dan turned and called for me and then I took off as fast as my paws would carry me. Dan is pretty quick and he was right behind me but fortunately for me he can’t fit under the couch! So I hid for awhile until they forgot about the flowers.) Considering my past incidents I can see why they were a little worried about me staying clean but I did and the next afternoon we were on our way down to the race shop to do my first photo shoot!

My owner Ashley got her hair and make up done for the photo shoot too. I’m not sure why she didn’t go to my place but she had my Aunt Courtney’s best friend Nicole come and do it. I scoped out the shop while I waited and found all kinds of cool things to climb on and around! There were race cars and parts and tool chests just like the race trailer! But there were also other things like couches and plants which looked more like my home so I figured this must be the race car’s home. It’s cozy but there are no curtains so I like my home a little better!

When it came time for photos Ashley, dressed in her fire suit, picked me up and we did some close up shots first. Then we did some shots with her helmet. They tried to put me in the helmet but I am a growing boy and did not fit and I didn’t want to get in that dirty thing anyway! I’m freshly bathed! Through out the shoot I would routinely escape Ashley’s hold and take off across the lobby! It was so much fun because everyone would chase me all around! They couldn’t catch me though since I could easily squeeze right under the cars! Ashley, Dan, Courtney, Nicole, Ashley’s mom Laurie, Ashley’s dad John and even the photographer would chase me all around! John finally caught me. I thought he was allergic to me and wouldn’t come that close so I took the chance of coming out from under the car when he was nearby and he got me!

We finished the photo shoot with some pictures on the race car. I was pretty tired from our game of chase so when they set me on top of the injector I lay down and relaxed and just about fell asleep! Smiling for pictures is harder than I thought it would be! It was a very exhausting but fun afternoon that I got to spend playing with my family! I can’t wait to see the pictures but I do have one question. How am I going to start signing autographs when I’m not allowed to play with markers?
