The most exciting time of the race season is finally here… the start of the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle Countdown to the Championship! Our owner Ashley and her Castrol GTX team have had a tough season so far (we know because we watch her on ESPN2 every weekend!) but they had a great day in Indy, when they won the first race of the countdown! Yeahh! We were so proud of her and cheered and purred her on as she went rounds all day long. She was home for a weekend but then back on the road to Charlotte, where she got a few more points and kept her #4 position, so things are looking really good.

As her pets, we like her to be home with us, but we understand how important these races are so we are OK with her and Dan being away a lot. Gizmo and I are doing our best to keep things running smoothly at home. We are both starting to mature a little and are growing up. (I’m obviously a lot more mature than Gizmo, but I’m older and smarter so that’s understandable.) He still has attention issues when Ashley and Dan come home. I know that they love us no matter what, but he still pulls little stunts (like swallowing a bumble bee and eating a dryer sheet) that put Ashley into a panic and all attention is on him, which he likes. She has the emergency vet number on speed dial because of him. But I never do anything to alarm her and am always the cat that calms her down and keeps her relaxed and content. Gizmo keeps her energy up and keeps her on her toes, so together we believe we play an extremely important role in this Championship.

There are only two more away races (Dallas and Reading) and then Gizmo and I will be back on the road with the team for the final two in Vegas and Pomona. We will keep our paws crossed that we’ll be celebrating with D Team a lot in these next few months! –Simba

Now that I’m a little older, I can read and I know what Simba wrote about me. I am not an attention seeker. My cute looks get me attention regardless. The bumblebee was fun and I caught it in my mouth and accidently swallowed it. Honest mistake! The dryer sheet…well it smelled really good so I ate that too. I’m SO much more mature now that I don’t have a baby kitten face anymore. So take that Simba! P.S. Check out our glamour shots! -Gizmo
