Simba and Gizmo’s March Blog

It’s finally spring and Gizmo and I are so excited because you know what that means… birds! Now that it’s getting really warm out there are plenty of little squirrels, bunnies and birds out and about so Gizmo and I stand guard at the windows and the back door in case any try to come in to our territory!

We watched Ashley on TV this weekend with our aunt Brittany who babysat us and cheered on Ashley and her dad as they raced in Charlotte, NC at the first ever 4 wide national event! It was crazy to watch and very loud! (Especially for Gizmo and his big ears!) They got all the way to the final round when rain delayed the race until the next morning. Gizmo and I had to wait all night to see the finals and it was killing us because we were so excited and had our paws crossed!

The next morning really early we woke up Brittany by purring, meowing and walking across the top of her head until she finally had enough and got up and turned ESPN2 on! Ashley and John raced against Matt and Ron and when the tree came down all four cars were off! Ashley and her dad out ran the others and John won the race! Ashley came in 2nd and both ran really great times and speeds! Gizmo, Brittany and I cheered and jumped up and down and then we took a nap in the sun.

It was a great weekend for our racing team and we are so excited because next weekend is an off weekend because it’s Easter which means that both Ashley and Dan will be home for a bunch of days straight! We can’t wait to play in their laundry and suitcases and snuggle up with our owners because we miss them! It’s fun to see them on TV but when they’re home is the best. And this will be a very busy and intense week for Gizmo and I because not only do we have to celebrate with Ashley on her great weekend, but we also have another really important job to take care of… we have an Easter Bunny to catch!   - Simba
