Simba’s November Blog

I’m officially back on the road again. This past weekend I went to Las Vegas, for the 2nd to last NHRA event of the year and in two weeks will be in Pomona for the final race. Ashley had a tough weekend because her car is having an attitude problem. I don’t know much about cars, but I did my best to cheer her up by looking really cute every time she came in to the trailer and cuddling up on her lap every time she sat down in the lounge. And I made sure not to mess with the curtains or anything either which I think she was really happy about. Cats have many different skills and talents, but what we do best is love on our owners when they’re down.

This past weekend was also Halloween and since Ashley is the holiday queen, we had to get costumes of course! She dressed up as me and I dressed up as her! She took one of her extra uniforms and had a Castrol GTX uniform made for me! I was officially part of the team! She wore cat ears and whiskers on her face. That’s it! I had to wear an entire body outfit, and she had a little face paint on and a head band! I was a little mad about that but I got over it once I saw all the attention I got for my costume. ESPN2 filmed me, and all the fans loved it! We put candy out at the end of the night for all the trick or treater’s who came by our pit. It was fun.

We’ll stay in Vegas for a few days since Ashley has testing and work to do and then we’ll head back home for a little bit of time before the Pomona race. This is a big month because it’s Ashley’s birthday month so I’ll have to start thinking about what I’m going to make for her. Maybe a scarf out of my fur balls or a toilet paper creation… Even better, maybe I’ll re decorate her curtains! Yeahh! I’m excited for November because I know from the past that since the season will soon be over, Ashley and Danny will be home all the time! We’ll start listening to holiday music in a few weeks and start putting up Christmas decorations! I love garland! It’s so fun to attack!  It’s still a little ways away but I’m looking forward to it. For now, I’ll continue to be D Team’s mascot for the rest of the season. They’ve had a really great year and I’m really proud of all of them. And no matter how they did on the track, Ashley’s crew guys always made time for me as well and that’s why they’re the best team in the world! Go D Team!
